How much can I get in compensation?
You may be entitled to financial compensation from the airline if you have, like many others, experienced a delayed flight, cancellation or overbooking within the past 3 years. The amount of compensation depends on the distance between the departure airport and arrival airport. Overbooking and cancellation
If you’ve experienced cancellation or overbooking and the airline offers you a different flight to your destination, you should be aware that your compensation will be cut in half if the plane arrives:
- within two hours to the arrival airport for a trips under 1,500km
- within three hours for trips between 1,500km and 3.500km and all trips over 1,500km within the EU
- within four hours for trips over 3.500km outside of the EU.
When does the law apply?
This section will show you when you might be entitled to compensation. The EU regulation applies if you are flying from a non-EU country to an EU country if the company is from the EU. Additionally, you may be eligible if you are flying from an EU airport, regardless of whether the company is registered in the EU or not.
